Is This Trip Right for You?

This is an active trip. Our tour group covers a lot of ground each day, and we spend two to three hours on our feet during tours. The pace is fast. We have many early mornings and long bus rides necessary to cover the territory. Some of our tours require walking over uneven surfaces or up and down steep slopes or steps. Day 1 Depart for Guangzhou, China
Depart for Guangzhou, China. Take a flight to Guangzhou, China, and start your 2024 trip to beautiful China!

Day 2 Arrive in Guangzhou, China
Upon arrival in Guangzhou, our tour representative will meet you outside the baggage claim exit and guide you to the comforts of our transfer vehicle that will bring you to your hotel for check-in, to rest and to refresh. And you will have to take care of your own meals.

Day 3 Guangzhou
Experience the captivating City Tour of Guangzhou, the vibrant capital city nestled in Guangdong Province, Southeast China. Renowned as a significant port on the South China Sea, Guangzhou stands as China's pivotal southern gateway to the global arena. It serves as a bustling hub city for the ambitious Belt and Road Initiative. The grand opening ceremony and welcoming dinner of the 2024 Beautiful China Tour will be set to take place in the evening.

Day 4 Guangzhou
Today we will deeply explore Guangzhou by visiting Chen Clan Ancestral Hall which is hailed as China's finest example of ancestral-style architecture, earning the title "Pearl of Lingnan Architectural Art"among the largest traditional Guangfu buildings. Housing the Guangdong Folk Craft Museum, it boasts over 20,000 cultural relics and modern crafts, including nearly 3,000 national-level treasures. This museum stands as the foremost collector of Guangdong's heritage since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, making it a prime destination for exploring folk crafts in the province.


The next stop will be Yongqingfang where we will have the opportunity to enjoy the renowned Cantonese Opera Performances, blends Xiguan style, arcade architecture, and Lingnan folk arts, offering a rich cultural experience. Situated in Guangzhou's former Xiguan area, it features the most comprehensive collection of preserved arcade buildings in the city, showcasing Republic of China architecture that seamlessly combines Chinese and Western styles. Serving as a model for organic urban renewal, Yongqingfang exemplifies China's modern integrated urban lifestyle.

Shamian, once called Shicuizhou, is a historic island in Guangzhou. Situated southwest of the city, it spans 0.3 square kilometers, boasting eight streets and alleys. With a rich heritage dating back to the Song Dynasty, it became a British and French concession post-Opium War, adding to its cultural allure.

In the evening, experience the captivating Pearl River Night Tour in Guangzhou, where we will cruise along its core section. Admire iconic landmarks like the Canton Tower, Haixinsha Island, and Guangzhou Bridge amidst the city's vibrant night lights.

Day 5 Guangzhou
Today we will fulfill the adventure by visiting Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, Huacheng Square, Baomo Garden, Shawan Ancient Town to learn about the Lingnan culture

Beijing Road Commercial Pedestrian Street, at Guangzhou's core, symbolizes the city's urban origins. For over two millennia, it has been Guangzhou's prime commercial center, showcasing its enduring status and contributing to the city's rich history, culture, and commerce.

Huacheng Square, Guangzhou's "city living room," is the largest square in the city, surrounded by 39 planned buildings, including the new Guangzhou Library, Guangzhou Grand Theater, and Guangdong Provincial Museum.

Baomo Garden, constructed in the late Qing Dynasty, spans five acres. It's a significant Lingnan cultural landscape garden, seamlessly blending elements of honest official culture, ancient Lingnan architecture, Lingnan garden art, and the distinctive features of the Pearl River Delta water town.

Shawan Ancient Town, nestled south of the Shiqiao River in Panyu District, Guangzhou City, has an 800-year history. It showcases around 400 ancient buildings from the Ming, Qing, and Republic of China eras, arranged in a linear layout. Its culture, rooted in historical and waterside traditions, represents Guangfu folk culture in the Pearl River Delta.

Day 6 Guangzhou-Foshan

Today we will assemble and head for Foshan from Guangzhou. We will visit  the Ancestral Temple and enjoy a captivating lion dance performance. The Foshan Ancestral Temple, acclaimed as the "Palace of Oriental Folk Art" and "The Palace of Lingnan Architectural Art," showcases distinctive Lingnan architecture. Following the visit, witness the mesmerizing lion dance, a cherished tradition symbolizing national pride and cultural heritage, widely celebrated in overseas Chinese communities.Following we will visit Lingnan Tiandi which focuses on the Ancestral Temple, Donghua Lane, and the historical area, preserving 22 cultural relics and many historical buildings with modern methods. It retains historical streets and creates an open space.

last but not least, we will have a great opportunity to get to know the Wing Chun Martial Art. Wing Chun is a traditional Chinese martial art renowned for its defensive techniques aimed at stopping aggression. It is a streamlined and efficient defense system, emphasizing swift neutralization of opponents to minimize harm for all parties involved.

Day 7 Foshan
Today, our exploration of Foshan continues with visits to Qinghui Garden and Fengjian Water Village. Additionally, we'll immerse ourselves in the rich heritage of Guangzhou by experiencing the intricate art of paper cutting and the craftsmanship of ceramic production.

Qinghui Garden Museum, located on Qinghui Road in Daliang Town, Shunde District, Foshan City, is one of Guangdong's four famous gardens. It showcases typical Lingnan garden style, distinguished from the Jiangnan garden style. Lingnan gardens are often small and intricately designed, situated near towns or cities for easy access.

Fengjian Water Township, a unique Lingnan water town situated in Xingtan Town, boasts over 10 kilometers of surrounding waterways and 28 kilometers within its jurisdiction. Visitors enjoy boat rides through the winding blue waves, escaping the city's hustle for fresh air and the charm of ancient villages. Lined with ancient houses and trees, its stone streets evoke a tranquil atmosphere, reminiscent of Tao Yuanming's poetic imagery.

Day 8 Foshan-Kaiping
Today we will drive to  Kaiping and visit the Kaiping Diaolou that  is a distinctive form of Chinese architecture blending defense, residence, and Chinese-Western styles. At the Cangdong Diaolou Conservation Center, we will explore the ancient village, dine under banyan trees, and enjoy Kaiping cuisine and cultural performances. An evening talk by a Wuyi University professor delves into Diaolou and overseas Chinese culture.

Day 9 Jiangmen-Shenzhen
After breakfast, we will continue our journey by visiting the Jiangmen Wuyi Museum of Overseas Chinese, Chen Baisha Memorial Hall and the Former Residence of Liang Qichao.

The Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Museum, covering 9,000 square meters, comprises Taishan Hall, Enping Hall, and Heshan Hall. Its exhibition highlights the stories of Wuyi's overseas Chinese in six parts: "Jinshan Dream Search," "Overseas Entrepreneurship," and "Blood and Heart," showcasing their hard work and contributions to their hometown.

The Chen Baisha Memorial Hall is a courtyard-style historical celebrity memorial dedicated to preserving Ming Dynasty-era buildings. Its 300-square-meter exhibition hall encapsulates Chen Baisha's life and accomplishments in art, education, and Confucianism. Serving as a cultural window for Jiangmen and surrounding areas, it offers insight into Chinese culture.

The Former Residence of Liang Qichao, built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, is a well-preserved antique bungalow in Chakeng Village, Xinhui. Covering over 400 square meters, it includes the residence, study room, and other structures. Visitors can explore an exhibition room showcasing Liang Qichao's relics, writings, and life stories. Known for the legend of "one discipline, three academicians, and nine talented sons," Liang Qichao's patriotism permeated his family's values, evident in the memorial's permanent exhibition depicting his family management and educational philosophy.

After all the visits, we will transfer back to Shenzheng and rest in the hotel

Day 10 Shenzhen
After breakfast, we will visit to see the permanent exhibition of "Great Tides Surge Along the Pearl River: 40 Years of Reform and Opening-up in Guangdong" The exhibition not only portrays the significant transformations in Guangdong Province over the past 40 years of reform and opening up but also features high-end science and technology displays alongside artistic painting exhibitions. Beyond showcasing the historical evolution, the exhibition emphasizes technological innovation and intelligent manufacturing. It highlights high-tech products and innovations from prominent Guangdong enterprises such as GAC, Huawei, DJI, Foxconn, Han's Laser, Midea, Gree, Zhuhai Yunzhou Intelligence, as well as models of major scientific and technological projects like the Tianhe-2 supercomputing system and the spallation neutron source

The next destination will be the Splendid Chinese Folk Culture Village which is China's first large-scale cultural tourist area, showcasing the folk arts, customs, and residential buildings of various ethnic groups within one park. With 25 villages built at a 1:1 scale, visitors can immerse themselves in the experience. The village features Han archways, Beijing courtyards, and distinct characteristics in each ethnic minority village, including the Miao, Dong, Yao, Wa, Li, and Jingpo. Authentic ethnic minority performers warmly welcome guests, providing immersive cultural experiences. The village also includes scenic attractions such as the Yunnan Stone Forest, Hainan Coconut Grove, Nanbin Ancient Banyan Tree, Thousand-Hand Thousand-Eyed Guanyin, and Huizhou Archway Group, amidst undulating mountains, waterfalls, green waterways, and boat races.

Day 11 Shenzhen-Dongguan
After breakfast, we will visit Dafen Oil Painting Village, Gankeng Ancient Town, Crane Lake Wei and Shenzhen Hakka Enclosed House.Then we will head for Dongguan.


Dafen Oil Painting Village, once a typical village, was revolutionized in 1989 when Hong Kong art dealer Huang Jiang established the oil painting industry there. Today, it's a bustling hub for artists and painters in Shenzhen, featuring workshops where visitors can watch live painting demonstrations and purchase various oil paintings, including customized pieces. A visit to the village offers an enriching art experience.

Gankeng Ancient Town, settled by Hakkas over 350 years ago, has been redesigned by Peking University Research Institute to showcase Hakka culture and offer farming experienc

Crane Lake Wei, it's a notable structure within Shenzhen's "New Hakka Capital" and ranks among the top ten ancient Hakka villages in the city.

Shenzhen Hakka Enclosed House, dubbed "the history book of rammed earth" and "the living fossil of Hakka architecture," boasts unique features. Unlike traditional designs, Shenzhen's houses adapt to terrain with flexible layouts, including unconventional orientations. They primarily use Sanhe soil, bricks, and local materials, such as oyster ash, to withstand coastal conditions.

Day 13 Dongguan-Guangzhou
After breakfast, we will continue our tour by visiting Nanshe Ming and Qing Ancient Village, Keyuan and the Opium War Museum

Nanshe Ancient Village, from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, spans 6.9 square kilometers with over 3,000 residents, making it one of the largest in the Chashan area and Dongguan. Maintaining its Ming and Qing architectural pattern, it houses 22 ancestral halls and ancient houses, totaling over 200 rooms. This rare gem in the Pearl River Delta preserves well-carved relics and structures, including an ancient wall, a woodworking tower, and the Xie Family Ancestral Hall, showcasing traditional layout.

Keyuan is a thematic museum in Dongguan, showcasing classical garden architecture and Lingnan School cultural relics. It serves as a platform for collecting, displaying, and studying these artifacts while promoting Lingnan architectural culture and art. With a blend of Dongguan's cultural characteristics and modern flair, Keyuan stands as a significant public cultural facility.

The Opium War Museum, located near Weiyuan Fort in Haikou, Humen, is a thematic museum spanning 204,000 square meters. With a construction area of about 10,000 square meters, it features an exhibition building, an oath-taking square, and a sea-viewing causeway. The museum primarily showcases the "Opium War Naval Battle Exhibition" and the "Humen Naval Battle" half-view paintings. It serves as a key component of the Humen Fort's patriotic education base and is one of the nation's three major anti-drug education bases.

We will also transfer back to Guangzhou and get rest in the hotel

After breakfast, we will go to explore the Guangdong Science and Technology Center that serves as a comprehensive science education base, facilitating science education, technology exchanges, training, and exhibitions.
