The flight arrives at Beijing , we are met by our tour guide and to be transferred to our Luxury Hotel.
D3、Beijing (AB, L, SD)
Beijing is the capital of China , and the host city for the 2008 Olympics. We embark for a full day tour, begins at Tian An Men Square, the largest public square in the world, its monuments and buildings situated around the square's perimeter. Then we visit the Forbidden City and Summer Palace , enjoy a walk along Lake Kunming . Dinner is served at a fabulous Peking Duck Banquet.
D4、Beijing (AB, L, D)
The Great Wall of China is one of the seven great man-made wonders of the world and definitely the focal point of China . Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant followed by a visit to the historic Hutong and Alley of Beijing old town, take in the sights and sounds of the Beijing of olden times. Enjoy the Traditional Chinese Kungfu Show tonight.
D5、Beijing/Xian (AB, L, SD)
Visit the Temple of Heaven , where the Emperor prayed for harvest in Ming and Qing dynasty. Later in the day, we board a flight to Xian, the starting point of the historic Silk Road . We drive by the Ancient City Wall, and stop to visit the Bell Tower . For dinner, we enjoy an Imperial Dumpling Banquet.
D6、Xian (AB, D)
Xian was the former capital of China and enjoys a 5000 year old history. In 221 BC, Qing Shi Huang unified China and became its first emperor. When he died, an entire Terra Cotta Army was constructed and buried with him. It was uncovered serendipitously in 1974 by farmers, and then became one of the century's great archeological discoveries. Enjoy the world famous Tang Dynasty Stage Show after dinner.
D7、Xian/Lanzhou (AB, L, SD)
Finish up our tour in Xian with a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Depart Xian for Lanzhou by air, upon arrival, explore the city on your own. Special local beef noodle will be served as dinner.
D8、Lanzhou/Dunhuang (AB, L, HD)
Take a half day tour to Bingling Grottoes, also know as the Bingling Temple , which is one of China 's best grottoes. With the first cave built in 420 AD, Bingling Grottoes are next to those in Dunhuang and the Maiji Mountain in magnitude and the value of their historical relics. Among the survivals are 183 grotto niches displaying 679 stone and 82 clay figures, in addition to more than 900 square meters of murals. Fly to Dunhuang in late afternoon.
D9、Dunhuang (AB, L, D)
During Han and Tang dynasties, Dunhuang was a major point of interchange between China and the outside world, a stopping-off post for both incoming and outgoing trading caravans. Visit the Mogao Caves – the ‘World Art Treasure House'. It is the world's most important sites of ancient Buddhist culture. The grottoes, also known as Caves of the Thousand Buddha, preserve nearly a thousand years of Buddhist cave-temple architecture, clay sculpture, mural paintings, and manuscripts, dating from the 5th to the 14th centuries. Enjoy a Silk Road Singing and Dancing Show after dinner.
D10、Dunhuang/Urumqi (AB, L, D)
Visit the Singing Hills and Crescent Moon Spring in the morning. After lunch, we stop at Dunhuang Museum on the way to airport before we board a 2-hour flight to Urumqi , the capital of Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region.
D11、Urumqi/Turpan (AB, L, D)
We take a cruise on Lake of Heaven , which elevates of 6400 ft above the sea level. It is a beautiful highland lake, flanked by rugged pines and cypresses, and with clear waters that reflect the surriungding mountains. Passing by Flaming Mountain , We take motor coach to Turpan, a Uighur town set in a large oasis surrounded by desert and mountains. Stop at the Gaochang Ruins, once an important garrison town on the Silk Road . Attend a local dance show.
D12、Turpan/Urumqi (AB, L, SD)
Turpan is famous for its sweet grapes and other fruits. The visit to the Grape Valley and the homes of Uighur farmers is an extraordinary experience. Take motor coach back to Urumqi , visit a local market – Bazaar. In the evening, we have a better appreciation for Uighur culture as we enjoy a delicious local roast lamb dinner.
D13、Urumqi/Shanghai (AB, IM, D)
Depart Urumqi for Shanghai , upon arrival, we visit the lavishly decorated Jade Buddha Temple , a relatively young but elegant structure that has stood for less than 100 years. In the evening, we attend a Chinese Acrobatic Show.
D14、Shanghai (AB, D)
The full day city tour includes a visit to Yu Garden, a classical Ming garden built by a wealthy businessman for his parents as an act of filial piety. Take in the local scenery at bustling shopping district Nanjing Road and travel along the famous Bund, a five-block long riverfront promenade containing many of Shanghai 's banks and trading houses. Enjoy this evening at leisure at Shanghai .
D15、Shanghai/USA (AM)
We are transferred to the airport for our flight back to the States, or begin the optional Post-Trip Extension. |
