Day 1. North America - Beijing---[Jan 18, 2011]
Depart from Los Angeles today aboard a spacious jet for your transpacific journey. When you cross the international dateline from east to west, you lose a day and you will “gain” the lost day back when you fly from China back to US. |
Day 2.Arrive at Beijing---[ Jan 19, 2011]
Upon arrival, you will be met by the tour guide of Spring Tour and be transferred by air-conditioned tour coach to the hotel. After this long voyage, it will be a pleasure to settle into your luxurious accommodations.

Day 3. Beijing – Shenyang - (B/L/D) ---[ Jan 20, 2011]
This morning, you will visit the Tiananmen Square, a famous landmark and the world's largest public square. You will continue your visit to the Forbidden City, the royal palace of ancient Chinese emperors. In the afternoon go to visit the newly built National Centre for the Performing Arts which is a dynamic new icon to the arts in the heart of old Beijing. The Centre's ultra-modern architecture is in sharp contrast to its neighbors, the Great Hall of the People, Tian'anmen Square and the ancient Forbidden City. The National Centre for the Performing Arts is far more than a spectacular and futuristic building. You will also have the time to visit Tong Ren Tang Chinese Pharmacy which is a famous time-honored brand in traditional Chinese medicine industry with a long history. After dinner, you will ride on the China Orient Express Private train to Shenyang.

Day 4.Shenyang - Jilin (B/L/D)---[ Jan 21, 2011]
Shenyang, literally meaning is "the city to the north of Shen River. It is a celebrated old city with more than 2,000 years of history. It is the birthplace of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), and has many cultural relics which symbolize the prosperity and subsequent decline of China's last feudal dynasty. The train will arrive at Shenyang at about 08:00am, you will have the breakfast in the hotel, then you will do the city excursion to visit the most famous Shenyang Imperial Palace, which is of great historic and artistic significance and second only to the Forbidden City in Beijing. Then you will continue the visit to the former residence museum of Zhang Xueliang and the 9.18 Memorial Museum - On September 18, 1931, at 10:30pm, a bomb exploded beside the Japanese run railway line near Shenyang. Though instigated by the Japanese, the Chinese were blamed for event giving the Japanese an excuse to invade and occupy the whole of the northeast of China. A feather souvenir store will be arranged to visit in the afternoon. Lunch will be the Chinese dumplings (ravioli). In the afternoon, you will continue your train riding trip to Jilin. Dinner will be served on the train.

Day 5. Jinlin - Changchun(B/L/D)---[ Jan 22, 2011]
Jilin City is a popular destination for tourists to come each winter to view the magnificent rime ice on trees along the banks of the Songhua River. The rime ice is a natural phenomenon that occurs every year. ( Note: this phenomenon does not happen everyday ) Today in the morning, you will go to the banks of the Songhua River and hopefully you would have the good luck to see the Jilin Rime. In the afternoon you will go to visit the Longtan Mountain Deer Farm where it boasts to have over one thousand spotted deer. You can buy beautiful pilose antlers, excellent ginseng, and magnificent marten fur in the gift shop run by the farm. At about 17:00pm you will ride the train to Changchun – the capital city of Jilin Province.
A welcome dinner banquet will be held in Shangri-La Hotel tonight.

Day 6. Changchun - Harbin (B/L/D)---[ Jan 23, 2011]
Although Changchun has been more than 200 years old, it is still a young city comparing other historical cities in China, like Xian. The present Changchun is a charming city with several fine names which can give you a general impression of this big city, such as Spring City of Northland, Forest City, City of Automobiles and City of Films. In the morning, you will visit the former Imperial Palace which is now the Museum of the Manchu State Imperial Palace. From 1931 to 1945 China's last emperor Pu Yi once resided in this palace. In the afternoon, you will ride the train again to Harbin. Historically, the city Harbin has had a lot of Russian influence, in particular after the Russian Civil War of 1918, when White (Monarchist) refugees escaped the newly formed Soviet Union. The influence remains clearly visible in the building styles and foods. "Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival" is one of the world's four largest ice and snow festivals. Harbin earns its great fame mainly for this annual ice sculpture display. You will surely have a wonderful time here. At night you will visit the Ice and Snow World, the Ice and Snow World is the dragon-head brand of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival. It provides visitors a good opportunity to appreciate a galaxy of unique ice and snow art at night time.

Day 7.Harbin (B/L/D)---[ Jan 24, 2011]
The international ice and snow festival held every year is definitely a must-see. Today you will explore this ice city by visiting the Sun Island Park, the site of the Snow Sculpture Exposition displaying a wonderful snow world. It is a famous snow art museum and many gorgeous snow sculptures have been placed at the expo's main square known as the "Romantic and Marvelous Area”.

Day 8, Harbin - Beijing (B/ L/ D)---[ Jan 25, 2011]
In the late 19th century and the early 20th century, Harbin was once the biggest habitat in the Far East for Jews. Today's schedule will take you to the "Jewish Community” where you can feel the atmosphere of their lives a hundred years ago and see the appearance of the Main Synagogue, the sites of Jewish High School and Jewish Bank. The rest of the time you will visit the St. Sofia Orthodox Church, the largest Orthodox Church in the Far East and last you will go to visit the most prosperous street in Harbin Center Street. You will ride the train back to Beijing today. Dinner will be on the train.

Day 9. Arrive at Beijing (B)---[ Jan 26, 2011]
Arrive at Beijing in the morning, the tour guide will meet you at the train station and send you to check in the hotel directly. Breakfast will be in the hotel. The rest of the day will be free on your own to explore Beijing.

Day 10. Beijing - North America (B)---[Jan 27, 2011]
Your wonderful China Orient Express train tour to visit Harbin Ice Festival will be finished today and you will fly back home today.
