Day 1, Hometown to Beijing(In flight meal)
Overnight flight to Beijing.
Day 2, Arrive in Beijing
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our tour guide and transferred to your luxurious hotel.
Day 3, Beijing(American Breakfast, Lunch, Special Dinner)
Your first "official" stop is at Tiananmen Square. The Forbidden City had been the imperial palace for China from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. That's a span for about 5 centuries. It is regard as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures on the earth. The Summer Palace is where the emperors prevent the sunstoke during summer months. Dinner will be served with a fabulous Pecking Duck Banquet.
Day 4, Beijing(AB, L, D)
The Great Wall of China is one of the great man-made wonders in the world and has inspired people for thousands of years. Next you will behold the National Stadium "Birds Nest" and the National Aquatics Center--"Water Cube". At Beijing Zoo you will observe the "family values" of the world--famous Giant Pandas. After your dinner, enjoy "Legend of Kungfu Show". It captures the ancient ritual of combat.
Day 5, Beijing/Xi'an(AB, L, D)
Today you will visit the Hutong in a very traditional Chinese way: By rickshaw. Then visit the exotic Lotus Flower. Later in the day, we board a flight to Xi'an, which is the starting point of the historic Silk Road. After dinner, you will experience part of the cultural diversity in China--Great Mosque.
Day 6, Xi'an(AB, L, SD)
Xi'an, the former capital of China and enjoys a rich 5000 years old history. In 221 BC, Qin Shi Huang unified China and became the first emperor. After he died, an entire Terra Cotta Army was constructed to be buried along with the emperor. It was uncovered in 1974 by a farmer, and then became one of the century's great archeological discoveries. We will visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, followed with a stop at the Bell Tower. Thereafter, we will enjoy an Imperial Dumpling Banquet and shortly after watch the world famous Tang Dynasty Stage Show.
Day 7, Xi'an/Guilin(AB, SL, D)
To finish up your tour in Xi'an, you will take a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the ancient city wall is probably better preserved than the Great Wall, and bicycle will be available for you to ride around and absorb the unique ambiance of X'an. Then depart Xi'an for Guilin by air. The city's name means"forest of sweet osmanthus."
Day 8, Guilin/Yangshuo(AB, L, D)
The highlight of today is a leisurely 4 hours' cruise down the Li River, passing the rice fields. Lunch will be served on board. We will walk along the famous West Street after arrival, and the rest of the day would be spent as leisure on your own. Walk around the countryside and experience the real Chinese farmer's life. In the evening, you can enjoy the famous light show "Impression of Sister Liu (Liusanjie)".
Day 9, Yangshuo-Guilin/Shanghai(AB, SL, D)
Drive back to Guilin in the morning, visit 180 million years old natural wonder: The Reed Flute Cave. It was formed over the years from limestone. Afterwards there will be the iconic Elephant Trunk Cave. Here you have a chance to take a break from the immersion in Chinese culture. You become an "accidental tourist" and dine on American hamburger. Fly to Shanghai after dinner.
Day 10, Shanghai/Suzhou/Shanghai(AB, L, D)
Today start your tour to Suzhou, which called the "Venice of the East" dates back to 514 BC.. The city is famous for its canals and classical gardens such as the Master of Nets. The Buddhist Hanshan Temple became well-know during Tang Dynasty. The culture, arts and industry, has been built around silk and you will visit the Silk Spinning Factory. Part of the contemporary China, Suzhou Museum was designed by I.M. Pei.
Day 11, Shanghai(AB, L, SD)
After soaking up the commercial aspects of Shanghai on Old Street, Nanjing Road, and Lujiazui Financial Area, you will step back to visit Shanghai Museum. The Bund is the symbol of financial power of China. In the evening you join the farewell dinner of Shanghai Cuisine. Followed with the famous Acrobatic Show.
Day 12, Shanghai/Hometown(AB)
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.(Click here for more extension).
