Coronavirus Update - March 30

InterTrips Employees Working from Home

By order of Governor Gavin Newsom, all California businesses that are not 'life-sustaining' have been ordered to close. This affects all employees at our office in Los Angeles, CA. All employees are equipped to work from home and remain available by email and will continue to respond to your online inquiries. Please note that check refund processing will resume as soon as our Accounting staff are legally allowed to resume their in-office duties.

Revised Policies

As global concern about the current COVID-19 outbreak grows, we're doing our best to keep everyone healthy and safe in the workplace while also minimizing the disruptions to our day-to-day operations. If you're looking for trusted, up-to-date information, we recommend visiting the specific coronavirus websites of the CDC or the WHO.

The health and well-being of our customers, associates, and communities is our top priority. We understand the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and are committed to being responsive to the needs of our customers and associates as the situation evolves.

You may like to know that we have provided special allowances for customers of Special Sales or through Third Parties tours who normally would not be eligible for any cancellation refund (see Terms and Conditions) during this unprecedented period:

China

Trips to China are canceled until May 31st, 2020. This situation is always evolving. As a result, airlines are frequently updating their schedules and policies. However, most of those policies have not yet extended beyond May 2020. Therefore, we strongly recommend customers with travel plans to China in June or later to wait for further updates since the airlines' policies will likely be amended or updated.

If your travel dates are in June and beyond, we may not be able to respond to your specific queries at this stage. As and when airline policies change, InterTrips will contact all affected guests via telephone and/or email with updates and details of available options.

General Information

Our team is monitoring the Coronavirus situation closely as the safety and security of our guests and staff is always our top priority. Except for our tours in China, InterTrips tour packages are operating as per our team's standard procedures. InterTrips has protocols in place, including preventative measures, to prioritize the safety of our guests in all parts of the world. Our Tour Managers are taking additional precautionary measures and remaining vigilant of this situation at all times. For more information about the Coronavirus including tips on prevention and travel advisory, please visit the U.S. Center for Disease Control's website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/index.html.

Please be aware that vendors, including all airlines and many hotels, are not providing refunds at this time. Airline penalties typically range between $300 per person to fully non-refundable. We ask that guests with departures more than 60 days ahead be patient as the standard terms and conditions will apply.

Should you decide to seek any refund, we urge you to contact your travel insurance company for reimbursement of any imposed cancellation penalties that must be deducted. Please note that travel insurance policies typically do not consider an event of this nature as a covered event. Please contact your insurance company to verify your coverage details.

As always, the health, safety and well-being of our customers, our associates and our communities is of paramount concern. We continue to monitor this quickly evolving situation and are here to assist our customers as needed.

Please stay safe and continue to wash your hands, avoid touching your face, and limit face-to-face interactions wherever possible, and avoid shaking hands with others. For additional information about COVID-19, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at cdc.gov.

InterTrips is facing an extremely difficult time at this moment. We hope that as a valued customer, you will consider rescheduling your trip instead of canceling it. Your decision is vitally important for us. Thank you for your understanding and continued support during this dynamic, turbulent time.
